Last Wednesday’s Xmas Social ended up being a great night out, with festive cheer enough to go round!

 Despite a relatively low turn out considering there are nearly 40 players signed on, the evening began in a flurry of prawn toasts and crispy duck in Chef Canton, where Ressies top scorer Marc Stewart showed he really is Harry Potter by disappearing into thin air as soon as the bill arrived… (You owe everyone who was there a beer, Marc!)

 With town being as empty as the insides of Jonesy’s noggin, Yates seemed the only place worth visiting as it actually had more than 3 people in it. The Beets was able to resist the lure of the karaoke long enough for stories of his black past to come out; the Ruff and Rob revealing Beets penchant for storming out of karaoke bars who don’t let him belt out his favourites.

 Escape called next (being the only place open on a Wednesday night) but with most stragglers dropping out citing the weak excuse of work the next morning it was left to the hardy trio of Steve, Brooky and the Wheaton to grab the old, the blonde and the busty, pile them into the back of Smithy’s C1 (what do you mean 7 people in the back of a C1 is illegal…) and head out for a night of adventure in deepest darkest Copford…
