Barry “Bazza” Pryer holds the honour of being the player with the highest number of honours at the club. In his 4 seasons at the club, Bazza scooped the Player of the year, Player’s player of the year twice, Golden Boot, Manager’s player of the year and MVP before becoming player manager for the newly formed Blue Boar 1st team in 2006/07.

The club physio, Bazza was a very versatile player. Starting his career off with FC Drury (or Drury Arms as it was then) up front, Baz scored 16 in his golden boot winning season, including two hat tricks (I think).

We also saw Barry play in midfield before finding a commanding role at heart of the Blue Boar defence. A confident organiser on the pitch with a booming voice, Bazza had a voice that could be heard from miles away. A fantastic touch and eye for a pass made him almost an ever present in most seasons.

An extremely likable individual, Bazza was named as Steev Tovey’s assistant when Blue Boar was just one team. When the club expanded, Bazza was named as First team manager with Darren Allen being named as his assistant.

Despite his best efforts on and off the pitch, Bazza had found himself a lovely young lady, and on top of other commitments, Bazza found himself with bigger and better things to do, and mid way through the 2006/07 season, Bazza decided he couldn't give the club the commitment it required, and resigned from his post.
